Following on from last year’s Modern Rustic blog post, I’m keen to show you how to get the Studio McGee look. If you're unfamiliar with the style, check out ‘Dream Home Makeover’ on Netflix, which follows husband and wife duo, Sid and Shea McGee.
Studio McGee's distinctive aesthetic is defined by soft colours and natural materials to create light and airy spaces that are beautifully balanced. If you’re just dying to create Studio McGee vibes, here are five places to shop to nail this lovely signature style.
1. Naken Interiors
Sourcing products from all over the globe, Naken Interiors have a diverse range of desirable furniture and accessories. Their collection boasts many unique designer home brands for swoon-worthy decor that can’t easily be found on the high street either.
Also, my favourite thing about Naken is that if they don’t have a specific product in stock, the likelihood is that the team will be able to find it for you.
They additionally offer free UK delivery when you spend over £70 and have a 10% discount for newsletter sign-ups.
2. Meggy & Me
An online cushion boutique, Meggy & Me, offer a curated mix of artisanal cushions and throws. Taking inspiration from nature, culture and texture, Leah’s handmade pieces perfectly capture the modern rustic essence of Studio McGee.
Take the beautifully woven AMY cushion in Ivory Cream with its tassel detail and organic texture. I can’t resist interwoven soft fabrics as they wear very well and give a rich tactile look.
3. Hudson Home
For gorgeous lighting and décor like marble coasters and books, Hudson Home offer a fresh style of luxury homeware.
Based in the Midlands, they are a family-run business that sources its products around an uncomplicated, natural aesthetic. Forever pieces include the terracotta Roman Lamp with an off-white shade, Faux Branching Coral and Rattan Trays.
Nic and Claire have a real eye for mixing organic colours and textures to create a cosy, warm space - everything the Studio McGee style stands for.
4. Lisa Valentine Home
Lisa Valentine Home is the destination you need for everyday, beautiful homeware. Lisa’s ethos is to live with only the things you love or constantly use, and so almost everything she sells can be used in your daily routine.
I’m totally obsessed with her Marble Salt and Pepper Pots and the Olive Wood Mortar and Pestle - special touches like these are hallmarks of a Studio McGee kitchen.
Lisa also offers free delivery on orders over £50 and recycles and reuses packaging wherever she can.
5. Hunter & Co.
Hunter & Co. is my tried-and-true place for vases, art prints and more. Founded by décor addict Tammy Gow and based in the UK, the brand serves up a large helping of coastal living for interior spaces.
Taking inspiration from the beachy Hamptons, Hunter & Co definitely bring something different to the British market. I can’t get enough of their limited prints by independent artists which will contrast beautifully with breezy Studio McGee decor.
Other ways to shop the Studio McGee style
Thank you for reading my post and I hope that you have all the Studio McGee inspiration you need. Don’t forget, Facebook Marketplace and local charity shops are also great places to browse to find some really unique pieces.
In addition, check out this article by my friend Jayne from @ourtravelhome who has found an amazing way to actually shop from McGee & Co and other gorgeous brands in the US. She’s also shared more UK based stores in her other blog post - I promise both are definitely well worth a read!
