A Bright & Airy Flat Conversion in Kingston

Project Completed: December 2018

The brief:

Convert a four bed student let into a clean & inviting two bed home, changing the layout for a better sized kitchen and bathroom.

The design:

Kitchen

A new layout meant that we could create a better functioning & more spacious kitchen.

A light and bright colour palette kept the space feeling airy, and the open shelving helped to make the room feel wider too.

The white quartz worktop is highly practical and light reflective, with a complementary white subway tile splashback.

The flooring is a grey oak wooden laminate and the wall lights give a lovely glow as an alternative to the overhead spotlights.

Bathroom

As a student let, the property only had a shower room so it was important with the new floorplan to be able to add in a bath and also house the washing machine within the bathroom.

The client wanted to keep everything white, and this worked really well to help the space feel larger, alongside the floor tiles bringing some warmth and pattern to the room.

A bespoke shower screen allowed for a shower over the far end of the bath, whilst also keeping the floor dry in front of the newly built in cupboard to house the boiler and washing machine.

Hallway, Bedrooms & Living Room

These rooms only required a little facelift, so we laid new carpet throughout, changed all the light fittings and added curtains.

A few additional styling touches finished the space off nicely to make the flat feel more like a home.
